Man dressed as construction worker wanted in Charlotte bank robbery

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A man is wanted in a bank robbery that happened in northeast Charlotte Friday morning.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say it happened around 9:04 a.m. at the Wells Fargo Bank in the 4000 block of N Tryon Street.

The robber, wearing a construction outift, walked in and handed the bank teller a note stating that it was a robbery and he was armed, police say. A weapon was never seen.

The man ran off towards Sugar Creek Road after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber is described as a man in his 40s who is around 6’1″ with a thin build.

He was last seen wearing a yellow construction vest, a white hard hat, jeans and black tennis shoes.
