Wake County law enforcement officers raise money for new uniforms for Raleigh students

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Students at River Oaks Middle School will be well-dressed for their first day of school on Monday.

At Friday’s orientation for students and parents at the school in Raleigh, they received free uniforms. The Wake County Fraternal Order of the Police raised money all summer long to get uniforms for more than 60 students.

Sixth through eighth graders took home two shirts, pants and new sneakers.

“It’s the community. We always try to be there for the community. We are law enforcement, we are here to serve,” said Frank Sancinento, president of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #41.

River Oaks Middle is an alternative school for students who need additional support in and out of the classroom.
