NC pair facing human trafficking and ‘sexual servitude’ charges

THOMASVILLE, N.C. (WFMY) — Two Davidson County residents are in custody on human trafficking charges.

Celeina Pauline Gracelynn Bennett, 20, and Ashley Shane Upchurch, 25, both face one felony count of human trafficking of an adult victim and one felony count of sexual servitude of an adult victim.

Investigators say the arrests were a result of a joint investigation that started after law enforcement received information about the case.

Agents from Alcohol Law Enforcement, ICE Homeland Security Investigations and deputies from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office searched the suspects’ residence in Thomasville.

Investigators haven’t released any other details surrounding the case.
