NASHVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The first cases of Zika have been reported in Nash County.
A spokeswoman with the Nash County Health Department said a group of people were tested last week for the virus, which later came back positive on Friday.
The spokeswoman said the group, made up of both males and females, had recently traveled to the Caribbean.
The Health Department did not release the number of positive cases of Zika, however.
WNCT has contacted the North Carolina Health Department to learn more about these cases.
All of those who tested positive for Zika live in Nash County, officials said.
This marks the first cases of Zika reported in the county.
