CARY, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman was hit by an Amtrak train in Cary on Monday night, Cary town officials say.
The incident was reported around 10:30 p.m. by the train conductor of the Amtrak Silver Star 91, officials say.
It has since been ruled a suicide.
The woman was hit in the area around Maynard Road and Old Apex Road, officials said.
The Silver Star was heading to Miami from New York and had just left the Cary depot when the incident happened.
There were 143 passengers aboard with no reported injuries.
