CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) – If you hate trying to figure out what’s for dinner, or scrambling to find the ingredients you need – a Chapel Hill man has a solution.
He’s created a website designed to streamline the grocery shopping and meal planning process.
It’s called My Happy Plates.
Ryan Perlowin keeps his pantry well-stocked these days, but it wasn’t always that way.
“We were spending way to much money on food, way too much time in the grocery store,” recalled Perlowin. “It was stressful.”
Then, he started planning weekly meals ahead of time, shopping for all the ingredients at once.
What started as a simple schedule on a dry-erase board eventually morphed into the meal planning website, My Happy Plates.
Members put in some basic information about cooking habits, then add in food preferences as well as ingredients they can’t eat or just don’t like.
The website comes up with a week’s worth of recipes specifically designed for each person. It also compiles a grocery list.
Joining My Happy Plates costs $6.95 a month.
