WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) — A mother and her daughter are missing and may be with a man who is considered armed and dangerous.
Shayla Da’nia Bryant, 21, is likely with her child, Alijah Powell, who is just one-year-old.
Bryant was last seen by her mother and grandfather at the scene of a shooting. No one was injured in the shooting.
It happened on Cedar Grove Road, near the intersection of Stone Chimney Road, on August 27.
Bryant is likely in the company of Dwight Powell Jr., 28, who is a person of interest in that shooting, according to Brunswick County investigators.
The mother and daughter were last seen in Bryant’s car, a black 2003 Honda Odyssey bearing NC registration PCK4315.
They could also be in a gold 2006 Chevrolet Impala, NC registration BBS1087.
Bryant may be held against her will, investigators said.
Detectives believe she could be somewhere in South Carolina.
