OCEAN ISLE BEACH, NC (WECT) — Though Hermine was not a hurricane, it certainly was a healthy tropical storm when it rolled up the Carolina Coast Friday.

But Sydney Freeman and Corey Cockerham allowed neither wind nor rain nor sea spray to derail their afternoon surf-side wedding at Ocean Isle Beach on Saturday.

In the accompanying photo that Stephanie Moore shared with WECT News, you can see Freeman and Cockerham “sealing the deal” with a kiss. (Congratulations!)

Tropical Storm Hermine delivered 4 to 8 and locally 9+ inches of rain, isolated wind damage, and localized tidal surge to the Cape Fear Region Friday.

The forecast trends more tranquil for the remainder of the holiday weekend.
