Authorities searching for missing Raleigh teen girl; Silver Alert issued

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A Silver Alert has been issued as Wake County authorities search for a missing 16-year-old Raleigh girl.

The North Carolina Department of Public Safety issued a Silver Alert for Brooke Claiborn after she went missing from the 8500 block of Ashwood Drive in Raleigh.

Claiborn is believed to be suffering from dementia or another cognitive impairment, according to the alert. She is described as standing 5-foot-1 and weighing 115 pounds. She has blonde hair, blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a gray long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and pink and gray camouflage boots.

Her direction of travel is unknown, authorities said. They are also unsure of a possible destination.
