Goldsboro man charged with rape after woman reports sex assault, police say

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) — A Goldsboro man was arrested and charged with rape after an incident late last month, authorities say.

The incident was reported on Friday, Aug. 25 just before 11 p.m. when Goldsboro Police responded to Wayne Memorial Hospital for a report of a sexual assault, Goldsboro Police said in an email.

“(The) victim stated a known suspect had sexual intercourse with her without consent,” police said.

After an investigation, TLee Rodriquez Williams, 31, of the 700 block of E. Walnut Street was arrested on Wednesday, officials said.

Williams was charged with second degree forcible rape and is being held in the Wayne County Jail on a $150,000 secured bond, according to police.

The rape victim was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, police said.

Williams’ first appearance is set for Thursday.
