CLEARWATER, FL (WCMH) — Police say a woman in Florida torched a car that she mistakenly believed was her ex-boyfriend’s car.
Police initially released the video last week hoping to identify the woman caught on camera torching a car before riding away on a bicycle.
Fire investigators told media outlets that she set a rag on fire and put it in the gas tank
On Saturday, police spotted the woman and identified her as Carmen Chamblee, 19. She was arrested and charged with second-degree arson.
According to WTSP, Chamblee allegedly told investigators that she thought the car belonged to her ex-boyfriend.
She was wrong, according to police. She is being held in the Pinellas County Jail.
