CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) — A teacher was shot during an apparent robbery attempt late Friday night in Charlotte.

UPDATE: NC teacher dies days after being shot during robbery attempt

Ruijuan Guo, 33, was shot near the 100 block of East Park Avenue about 11:30 p.m. Friday, according to police.

Guo is an elementary school teacher at Kensington Elementary School in Waxhaw, according to Union County Public School officials

The school’s website states she teaches Mandarin.

The victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are looking for witnesses and collecting evidence.
