NC man murdered his elderly dad, then set house on fire, deputies say

SUPPLY, N.C. (WECT) — Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office have charged a Supply man with murder after he reportedly set his father’s home on fire.

Firefighters were called to the scene of a structure fire just before 7 a.m. Sunday morning.

The fire was at 2843 Craven Street in Supply.

James Caison, 86, was pulled from the home and taken to Brunswick Novant Hospital where he later died.

Detectives arrested Alton Glen Caison, 60, and charged him with first degree murder and first degree arson.

Caison is being held at the Brunswick County Detention Facility under no bond.

The Brunswick County Sheriff, John Ingram, and the entire Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office are offering their sincerest condolences to the family of Mr. James Caison.

Alton Caison was previously charged in April 2015 for reportedly exposing himself on Holden Beach.
