TAYLORTOWN, N.C. (WNCN) — A Moore County woman missing for a week was found on Sunday, officials say
Christy Pearson Wills was last seen on Sept. 4 in the area of Juniper Lake Road in Taylortown, according to the Aberdeen Times.
Officials conducted a ground search in the area of Juniper Lake Road and Big Rock Road on Sunday. A helicopter from the N.C. State Highway Patrol also assisted in the search.
After Wills could not be found, a Silver Alert was issued for her Sept. 6.
Deputies and EMS personnel conducted additional searches in the Taylortown area but were not able to locate Wills, authorities said.
But, on Sunday, Wills was found walking in the Taylortown area and the Silver Alert for her was canceled, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office said in an email.
“Sheriff Godfrey expresses his sincere appreciation to the community as well as the surrounding law enforcement agencies for the assistance they provided to the the Moore County Sheriff’s Office in locating Christy Pearson Wills,” deputies said.
