FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – A 67-year-old Moore County woman is recovering after she was shot while playing bingo at a Fayetteville bingo hall Saturday night.
The incident happened at about 9:17 p.m. at a bingo hall at 6113 Yadkin Road, Fayetteville Police said.
Lula McClain, 67, of Cameron is at UNC Medical Center where she is listed in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery, police said Monday.
According to police, McClain was playing bingo inside the building when an altercation occurred outside in the parking lot.
The altercation resulted in a shooting and a bullet went through the front window and the building and struck McClain, police said.
The shooting had nothing to do those playing the game inside.
A neighboring business owner told CBS North Carolina that the bingo hall is normally open Friday-Sunday and is often full of people.
Police said they are looking at footage from nearby surveillance cameras in an attempt to track down the suspects.
Detectives are actively investigating the shooting and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
Anyone with information regarding the shooting investigation is asked to contact Detective G. Watson with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 303-9554 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
