Woman dies after being hit by Corvette, Fayetteville police say


FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – A woman died after Fayetteville police said she was hit by a Corvette while she was crossing N. Reilly Road late Tuesday.

Just before 11 p.m., officers responded to the incident on N. Reilly Road near Crown Avenue.

Fayetteville police said a 1987 Chevrolet Corvette, driven by Kelvin Lee Lankford, 48, of Fayetteville was travelling South on N. Reilly Road when it struck the woman crossing the road.

Michelle Elizabeth Brady, 42, of the 6700 block of Candlewood Drive in Fayetteville was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and where she later died.

Reilly Road was closed near the spot of the collision while police investigated.
