FORT BRAGG, N.C. (WNCN) – A death investigation is underway after a Fort Bragg soldier was found shot Sunday in his Sanford home, officials said.
Capt. Benjamin Blaylock, 39, of Spanish Fork, Utah died at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Officials say he joined the Army in 2010. He completed Officer Candidate School and Infantry Basic Officer Course in 2011.
Blaylock reported to Fort Bragg and was assigned to the 108th in December 2015.
“Ben Blaylock was a valuable member of the Skystryker team,” said Lt. Col. Chris Brough, commander of 3-4 ADAR. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time of loss.”
Blaylock is survived by his wife, two children, mother, and father.
An investigation into Blaylock’s death is underway.
