HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The UNC football player accused of sexual assault by another student surrendered to authorities Wednesday morning. Allen Artis was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
A warrant shows the junior linebacker from Marietta, Georgia has been charged with misdemeanor sexual battery and misdemeanor assault on a female.
Artis,21, was accompanied by his attorney when he turned himself in.
Sophomore Delaney Robinson, 19, of Apex, said she was assaulted Feb. 14 in an apartment at the Ram Village complex on the University’s campus.
During a news conference Tuesday, Robinson said she has struggled in bringing her attacker to justice. She claimed the University was not holding the accused attacker accountable.
