Woman found dead behind Raleigh furniture store

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A body was found near New Bern Avenue and Old Milburnie Road in Raleigh Friday morning, Raleigh police said.

Police said officers were dispatched shortly after 1:30 a.m. to 5109 New Bern Ave. to check in with EMS.

Police confirmed the body of Olha Kocherhina, 44, was located behind Kimbrell’s Furniture.

A 911 call released by Raleigh police reveals a language barrier caused the dispatcher to put a Ukrainian translator on the line.

Police said an investigation is underway to determine what happened.

Police did not say whether foul play is suspected or not and they have not named any suspects in Kocherhina’s death.
