RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – SAFE Haven for Cats, a no-kill cat shelter in Raleigh, is holding a “Free Cat Frenzy” event this weekend in hopes of finding loving forever homes for their cats.
The event began Friday and runs through Sunday until 5 p.m. As part of the Free Cat Frenzy, the organization is slashing prices on cat adoption fees – in fact, they’re waiving the adoption fees for all cats and kittens over the weekend.
Cat adoption fees are normally $105 and cover medical care, vaccinations, spay/neuter services and microchipping.
The free adoption event was made possible by a grant from the Petco Foundation, the organization said.
“This is an amazing opportunity for potential adopters to meet our cats and find a furry friend at no cost,” said SAFE Haven for Cats shelter director Sherri Orner. “We’re thankful for the support from the Petco Foundation, which will give so many cats an opportunity to settle into a forever home.”
The adoption event will help SAFE Haven make more space in their shelter for new cats and kittens that come in. There are currently 60 cats up for adoption at their facility.
The adoption event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Visit safehavenforcats.org/adopt/ for more information or to see the cats currently available.
The shelter is located at 8431 Garvey Dr. #137 in Raleigh.
