RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A 23-year-old man was found dead in his car on the side of Interstate 440 Sunday morning, Raleigh police said.
A Wake County Sheriff’s Office deputy saw a vehicle on the side of the I-440 near the Poole Road interchange just before 3:45 a.m. and went to investigate. Upon getting near the vehicle, he found an unresponsive male in the driver’s seat. At that point, the deputy requested EMS and Raleigh police officers were dispatched to the scene, police said.
The man was declared dead at the scene.
Police said there were no obvious signs of foul play, but a follow-up investigation is being conducted.
