HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. (WNCN) — Children in the Triangle suffering from cancer will soon get a new toy.
On Sunday, hundreds of toys were donated to Zach’s Toy Fund during a charity event at Holly Springs’ Acme Pizza.
Zach, a local boy, was diagnosed with cancer as an infant.
Now, at age nine, he and his family donate toys to children with cancer getting treatment at local hospitals.
“Cancer is just a horrible beast of something you have to fight….just makes their whole day,” said Holly Schwab, Zach’s mom.
To date, Zach’s Toy Fund has donated 60,000 toys.
