Capital Blvd. reopens after suspicious package at bus station shuts road

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Police closed key Raleigh roads for about 3 hours while they investigated a suspicious package at the Greyhound bus station on Capital Boulevard on Sunday.


Capital Boulevard was shut down in the area around the bus station. Northbound Capital Boulevard was closed at Fenton Street and southbound Capital Boulevard was closed at Crabtree Creek Boulevard, police said.

Police did not say whether the bus station had been evacuated or if it had been closed.

Capital Boulevard reopened around 3:15 p.m. Sunday.

Later, police said that “Nothing hazardous was located when the package was examined.”
