FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman was attacked near her home and knocked unconscious for several hours late Saturday and into Sunday morning in Fayetteville, police say.
The incident was reported around 7:30 a.m. Sunday when officers responded to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in reference to a report of a woman who had been attacked.
The attack happened near the area of Robeson Street and the Levy Drive corridors during the late night hours of Saturday, Fayetteville Police said in an email.
“… a female was outside of her home near the Levy Drive corridor at approximately 11 p.m., when she was attacked and physically assaulted by an unknown suspect,” police said.
“ The female was knocked unconscious during the assault and awoke a few hours later a few hundred feet away from where she was attacked,” police added.
The woman was driven to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she was treated for injuries sustained during the attack.
