CARY, N.C. (WNCN) – Laura Robinson will be gone for two years and can only take 100 pounds of luggage with her to Macedonia.
The Cary kindergarten teacher says her decision to become a teacher in the Peace Corps just feels right.
“I’ll be with a Macedonian teacher and my main goal will be teaching English but also bringing the experiences I’ve had in the States with education and lesson plans,” Robinson said.
Robinson will teach students in grades first through sixth English.
She will go through a three month long intensive workshop to learn Macedonian.
“I’m hoping to be transformed and change by the people I come in contact with there and soak in as much as I can from them,” Robinson said.
