DURHAM. N.C. (WNCN) – A woman was found shot to death Monday morning after a shooting was reported at Lynnhaven Apartments in Durham, police said.
Durham police are investigating the homicide that happened in the 900 block of Wadesboro Street.
The victim has been identified as Erika Desiree Downey, 25, of Durham.
Dunn was arrested during a traffic stop on Interstate 85 in Granville County, officials said.
Durham police said Larico Dunn, 24, has been arrested and charged in connection with Downey’s murder. Family says the two dated.
Police say they responded to a report of a shooting shortly after 2 a.m.
When police arrived on the scene, they said they found a woman dead at the scene from a gunshot wound.
Police say a second female was shot during the incident and was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.
Police say no one is in custody at this moment. Police haven’t released information about any suspects.
The incident does not appear to be random, according to investigators.
