2 arrested for stealing ATVs, trailers, Moore County sheriff says

CARTHAGE, N.C. (WNCN) – Deputies arrested two people in connection with a string of Moore County thefts that included stolen ATVs and trailers.

During August and September, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office said seven different theft reports were filed in the Cameron, Carthage, and Robbins area.

The victims reported breaking and entering into a shop, one stolen truck, two stolen ATV 4-wheelers, two stolen trailers, one stolen lawnmower, one stolen moped, several stolen power tools and other equipment, the sheriff’s office said.

On Sept. 13, deputies arrested A.Z. McClure and Jakeyra Shimone McClure in connection with the thefts.

A.Z. McClure, 49, of Carthage was charged with:

  • Five counts of felony larceny of a motor vehicle
  • Felony breaking and entering
  • Felony larceny after breaking and entering
  • Six counts of felony possession of stolen goods
  • Felony possession of a stolen vehicle
  • Attempted felony larceny
  • Misdemeanor larceny
  • Damage to personal property

A.Z. McClure is being held at the Moore County Detention Center under $85,000 secured bond.

Jakeyra Shimone McClure, 25, of Carthage, was charged with:

  • Five counts of felony larceny of a motor vehicle
  • Felony breaking and entering
  • Felony larceny after breaking and entering
  • Six counts of felony possession of stolen goods
  • Felony possession of a stolen vehicle
  • Attempted felony larceny
  • Misdemeanor larceny
  • Damage to personal property

Jakeyra McClure is being held at the Moore County Detention Center under $75,000 secured bond.

Both are scheduled to appear in court Sept. 26.
