FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – A man was charged with felony hit and run after a three-vehicle crash hurt a 90-year-old woman on Wednesday morning in Fayetteville, police said.
Officers of the Fayetteville Police Department said they responded to a report of a car crash around 11:41 a.m. near the intersection of Raeford Road and Cliffdale Road.
Police say a Dodge Stratus collided with a Volvo, then crossed the median, hitting a third car.
The driver of the Dodge Stratus — a 90-year-old Raeford woman — was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she is listed in serious, yet stable, condition, police say.
A driver of a Dodge Neon has been identified as Anthony Toler, 63, of the 7700 block of Temperance Drive in Fayetteville, police said.
Toler was detained without incident about a mile from the scene after he fled the area in his vehicle after the crash, according to police.
Toler was charged with driving with a revoked driver’s license and felony hit and run.
He was taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center where he remains on a $3,500 secured bond.
Raeford Road was closed in both directions before to the Cliffdale intersection. In addition, Cliffdale Road was closed in both directions prior to the Raeford Road intersection, officials say.
