4 juvenile escapees apprehended, returned to custody, NC police say

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WNCN) – Four juveniles were apprehended Thursday after escaping from a youth development center in Rocky Mount, police say.

Officers with the Spring Hope Police Department apprehended the four juveniles who escaped from Edgecombe Youth Development Center, located at 78 Positive Way.

The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice said the juveniles escaped after they made an assault on a staff member around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police caught Dakota Y. from Guilford County; Joshua G. from Wake County; Justin M. from Carteret County and Juan M. from New Hanover County in Spring Hope around 9:45 a.m.
All four juveniles have been returned to secure custody, officials say.

The Spring Hope Police Department, Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office and the Rocky Mount Police Department assisted in the search.
