Raleigh man charged after swallowing 34 bags of cocaine, throwing them up in jail trash can

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A Raleigh man is facing drug charges after swallowing bags of crack cocaine and then vomiting them up in the trash can inside a search room at the Wake County Detention Center, a warrant shows.

According to the warrant, Trominique Ruffin, 20, of the 2900 block of Poole Road, swallowed 34 bags of “individually wrapped dosage units” of crack cocaine on Thursday.

After swallowing the crack cocaine, Ruffin proceeded to then vomit the bags of drugs into a trash can inside the search room at the jail, the warrant shows.

Ruffin has been charged with one felony count of possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine and one felony possession of controlled substance on prison/jail premises.

He is being held under a $25,000 secured bond at the Wake County Detention Center.
