CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A teenager is among those arrested during a night of protests that turned into violent riots in uptown Charlotte.
Wednesday night, the city saw a second night of protests following the shooting death of 43-year-old Keith Lamont Scott. Scott was shot by a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officer and later died.
Police say Scott had a gun, his family claims he didn’t have one.
Protesters marched for hours Wednesday night at times the march turned violent and people began to riot.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say 19-year-old Ian Bowzer, of Charlotte, was charged with damage to property. Police say the charges were in connection with doors being kicked in at Hyatt House.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Kerr Putney said 44 people were arrested in connection with Wednesday night’s marches.
