WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – North Carolina’s gubernatorial race is one of the most competitive in the country.
Before heading to the polls in November, voters will have a chance to hear both candidates speak in Wilmington on Sept. 30 at the Wilmington Convention Center.
Gov. Pat McCrory and Attorney General Roy Cooper will be speaking and answering audience questions as part of the Power Breakfast Series hosted by the Greater Wilmington Business Journal.
Series publishers and organizer Rob Kaiser said the events are held once every quarter with speakers on topics of interest within the business community. This event has exceeded prior attendance.
“It’s always different when you get to see somebody in person than when you see clips and things like that,” Kaiser said. “So it’s really a chance to make up your own mind by seeing the people in the governor candidates in person as to who you’re going to vote for.”
The Power Breakfast is sold out with more than 900 people expected to attend.
