FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – A Fayetteville 11-year-old’s wish is now helping feed the homeless.
Each Sunday, volunteers help fulfill Seth Wofford’s wish to help the homeless the in Fayetteville area.
“It was on a much smaller scale when we first started, it was me and Seth and we had these to go boxes that we would pack the food in and we would fill up the van and just drive around and look for people,” said Seth’s mother, Lindsey Wofford.
Each Sunday at 1 p.m., they serve about 100 people, but they also send meals home with kids at Seth’s school and have a big drive every Christmas.
Seth first asked his mom about helping the homeless when he was just 9 years old.
“It really made him think, it really affected him. It weighed heavy on his heart, so when he actually made the wish,” Lindsey Wofford said. “I just thought, ‘We got to do something.'”
