GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) – Adrian Killins returned a kickoff 100 yards and Dontravious Wilson ran for two scores as Central Florida beat East Carolina, 47-29 in the American Athletic Conference opener Saturday.

Wilson became the first Knight to score three touchdowns in a game since 2014 last week; this week he had scoring runs of 35- and 14-yards.

Phillip Nelson found Deondre Farrier with a 16-yard scoring pass to put the Pirates (2-3, 0-1) on the board first, but Killins tied the game by returning the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown and the Knights (3-2, 1-0) tackled East Carolina running back Devin Anderson for a safety to take the lead, 9-7.

The Pirates were unbeaten at home in 2016, with their two losses on the road at South Carolina and last week at Virginia Tech.

East Carolina came into the contest as three-point favorites to beat UCF, which improved to 2-2 last week after a 53-14 win at Florida International.

The Pirates had won 8-straight home conference openers.
