RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A wreck closed I-40 westbound in Raleigh on Sunday night.
All westbound lanes were closed at Exit 295, Gorman Street. The incident appeared to happen around 9:25 p.m.
“Travelers are advised to stay alert and adhere to all instructions given by law enforcement personnel on scene,” the NC DOT said in a message on their website.
To avoid delays, the NC DOT asked motorists to use the alternate route: From I-40 West, take exit 301 to I-440 West. Continue on I-440 West, and then reaccess I-40 at Exit 1.
The area is not scheduled to clear until 11 p.m., officials said.
