FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Fayetteville police say a man was killed by his nephew in a shooting outside a home during an altercation Sunday morning.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at a home in the 6500 block of Carswell Drive in the Fairfield Farms subdivision in north Fayetteville Sunday morning.
Fahd Mjalli, 41, of the 500 block of West Summerchase Drive in the same subdivision died after being shot, police said.
A preliminary investigation shows that some sort of altercation occurred at the home and a man was then shot near the entrance to the home, police said.
The victim was transported to Cape Fear valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Mohammed Alradai, 32, who is Mjalli’s nephew, became involved in an argument outside the front of Alradai’s home on Carswell Drive, police said in an email.
“As the argument escalated, Alradai produced a handgun and fatally shot Mjalli,” police said, adding that the pair were also business partners.
Alradai is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting, according to police. Alradai was processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center, where he remains without bond.
