RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Raleigh Police are looking for a pair of burglars who are stealing cigarettes from tobacco shops in the area.
The team struck three times in about 2 months – including busting into the same store twice just weeks apart, police said in an email.
The bandits, who drive either a Mercedes sedan or pickup truck in their getaways, first struck on May 24 at the Jokers Smokers store at 6111 Capital Blvd., police said.
Then, on July 1 and July 25, the pair hit the Mr. Tobacco store at 1811 New Hope Church Road.
In surveillance photos, the burglars place dozens of cartons of cigarettes in plastic trash cans before hauling them away.
“As can be seen in surveillance photos, the suspects dressed heavily to disguise their appearances. However, images of two vehicles used in the crimes may help to identify them,” police said.
One vehicle is a tan or silver crew-cab pickup truck that may be a Chevrolet or GMC, and the other car used is a light-colored 1990s model Mercedes Benz sedan, according to police.
