RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Homeowners in the Triangle are trying to take precautions ahead of Hurricane Matthew possibly hitting the area.
CBS North Carolina checked with several local tree trimming companies, all of which are getting calls from people wanting limbs and trees cut before the storm’s arrival.
A crew from Arbormax Tree Service tackled trees at a Raleigh home Tuesday.
Lucky for the homeowners, they happened to have already scheduled their service.
One of the larger tree companies CBS North Carolina spoke with said despite all the calls they’re getting for immediate service, they won’t be able to accommodate those potential customers because they already have a wait time of at least a week and a half.
The arborists with Arbormax anticipate a busy weekend and will go wherever they’re needed by insurance companies, even out of state, once there’s any damage.
“It’s a hard job to do because you see people’s livelihood and something that they worked so hard to have and keep their home nice. A tree like this could do tens of thousands of dollars of damage to a house,” said Jack fletcher, a crane operator and foreman with Arbormax.
