BROADWAY, N.C. (WNCN) — An argument between a father and son at an in-home daycare ended in gunfire just before noon Tuesday, according to the Harnett County Sheriff.
When the shooting took place, eight to 10 children were in the home, Sheriff Wayne Coats said in a news release. None of them was harmed, though at least two shots were fired, according to the sheriff.
Daniel Alday, 21, was shot, according to the sheriff.
He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, then airlifted to UNC Medical Center, the sheriff said.
The man believed to be the shooter, Paul F. Alday, 53, is cooperating with investigators, Coats said.
Both Aldays are listed as residing at the home that holds the daycare, 139 Hilltop Rd., Broadway.
Investigators have seized four weapons, Coats said. No charges have yet been filed.
