GREENSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) – President Barack Obama will visit North Carolina A&T State University next week to take part in a student forum, officials confirmed.

The forum, hosted by ESPN, will discuss the My Brother’s Keeper initiative and the role and legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Obama will also answer questions from the audience during the Oct. 11 forum.

Obama’s visit comes just days after two A&T students were killed in a shooting at an off-campus house party.

The two students were shot early Sunday following an altercation at a large party that was being held at 911 Circle Drive, police said.

The fight and shooting occurred just after 2 a.m. The incident occurred just a few blocks from campus.

More details on the president’s visit will be released in the coming days.
