Fayetteville house fire injures 1

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – One person was injured when a home on Murchison Road caught fire Friday, Fayetteville officials said.

At 12:10 p.m., firefighters responded to a house fire at 2205 Murchison Road, near the intersection of Jasper and Pennsylvania avenues.

Multiple 911 calls were made to report the fire, officials said.

Heavy smoke could be seen coming from the home by responding firefighters.

The fire was quickly extinguished.

An injured occupant was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment of burns and smoke inhalation. The Red Cross has been called into assist the residents of the home.

The condition was of the victim is unknown.

The origin of the fire was in the kitchen but the cause is still under investigation.
