RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Nearly two dozen pets from coastal counties are looking for new homes in the Triangle.
Best Friend Pet Adoption moved 22 dogs from Duplin, Tyrell and Bladen County shelters and are placing them with foster families in the Triangle.
The group says shelters are always filled with strays during heavy flooding and moving these dogs makes room for the expected influx.
“[We’re] trying to clear as many kennels as we can this week so whoever does come in next week has room,” said Keri Telliho of Best Friend Pet Adoption. “And hopefully because of the outpouring we’ve gotten from people willing to foster for us we can pull more dogs soon.”
The dogs will be available for adoption sometime next week. To adopt, you can go to the groups website, bfpa.org.
