FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Three men were shot in downtown Fayetteville – with one listed in critical condition after the shooting – on Monday night, police say.
The incident happened at about 7:45 p.m. in the 300 block of Adam Street near Kennedy Street, Fayetteville Police said in an email.
“The preliminary investigation revealed that a…. male by the nickname of “J-Rock” walked up to three … males who were standing in the area of Adam Street near Kennedy Street and began shooting the men with a handgun,” police said.
One of the men is listed in critical condition at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. The two other men were taken to the same hospital where they are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The names of the victims are currently being withheld until detectives can contact their immediate family.
The suspect who is known as “J-Rock” was described by police as a black male, 5-feet, 8 inches tall and weighing approximately 175 pounds. The suspect was last seen wearing all dark clothing along with a camouflage jacket, according to police.
