‘J-Rock,’ suspect in Fayetteville triple shooting, arrested, police say

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – The 39-year-old man wanted in connection with a triple shooting in Fayetteville Monday night was has been arrested, police confirmed

John Lee Nowell, or “J-Rock,” is accused of shooting his nephew and two other people in the 300 block of Adam Street around 7:45 p.m., Fayetteville police said.

Jeffery Alford, 47, died from his injuries sustained in the shooting.

John Nowell’s nephew, 32-year-old Robert Nowell, and 43-year-old Alton Barron are both listed in fair condition at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

John Nowell was arrested Monday night without incident at a residence on School Street, police confirmed.

Fayetteville police thanked the public for their assistance in helping identify and located John Nowell.
