ANDERSON, S.C. (WSPA) – A baby was abandoned at a grocery store Wednesday, according to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
They say the baby was found in a car seat around 3:20 p.m. in the foyer of Publix on Clemson Boulevard.
The baby is 9 weeks old, according to deputies.
They say the baby is okay and is now back with the mom.
The mom of the baby says it was not an intentional act.
Deputies say the mom didn’t realize she left the baby until she got home.
The mom and baby are from Georgia.
Anderson County Sheriff John Skipper says investigators have identified the mother and she called in to speak with them.
