FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Detectives have arrested the man sought in the killing of a landlord and the armed robbery of an mechanic’s shop.
Travis Edward Jefferson, 22, of the 800 block of Orange Street, was arrested Wednesday in the 800 block of Orange Street without incident and with the help of the U.S. Marshals Service, the SBI task force and the Greensboro Violent Crime Apprehension Team, police said.
Police declined to specify whether Jefferson at or near his home when he was apprehended.
Jefferson is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on charges of first degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony possession of stolen goods, kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, according to police. He is being held without bond.
The charges stem from the Aug. 1 killing of Victor Cirello and the robbery of Brown’s Garage on Sept. 25.

In the Brown’s Garage holdup, eight people were robbed by two gunmen, including one toting an AK-47, police and witnesses have said. One man was shot and wounded when he attempted to escape, according to officials.
Detectives are still seeking information about the second robber in the hold-up at Brown’s Garage.
