FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Fayetteville police are investigating an armed robbery and shooting at a Domino’s that left one man injured Thursday morning.
Police responded to a business robbery call just after 2:30 a.m. at the Domino’s located at 596 N. Reilly Road. A preliminary investigation shows that two employees were standing outside the store, which was closed, while a third employee was inside when an unknown man with a gun came from the side of the building and forced the employees inside.
The suspect was armed and wearing a dark hoodie and jeans, police said.
Once inside, the man demanded money from the safe and employees while threatening them with a gun. During the course of the robbery, the suspect shot one of the victims because he “felt his demands were not being met,” police said in a release. The suspect then fled the area. Police are unsure if he fled on foot or in a vehicle.
The victim was shot in the leg and transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He suffered non-life threatening injuries and has since been discharged.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery investigation is asked to contact Detective J. Lewis with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 703-9503 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
