NC school bus headed to the State Fair involved in collision

CLINTON, N.C. (WECT) – A Hoggard High School activity bus containing 18 students and two teachers was rear-ended by another vehicle while en route to the State Fair in Raleigh Thursday.

According to Valita Quattlebaum, spokesperson for New Hanover County Schools, the collision took place in Sampson County at around 11 a.m.

Three students and one teacher were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure. They were released from the hospital just before 4 p.m.

Quattlebaum said the parents of all the students on the bus have been notified, and Hoggard Principal Dr. Steven Sullivan and another bus are on their way to pick up the students to return them to school
