ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The mother who got into a drunken crash on Interstate 40 sending her baby flying out the window onto the interstate before taking off has pleaded guilty.
Police tracked down Georgette Vigil back in February at her house a few miles from I-40 and Wyoming. She admitted to downing at least a pint of vodka before getting in her SUV with her baby girl.
She crashed into a barrier on I-40 and the baby flew out onto the shoulder in her car seat. Vigil insisted she didn’t know the girl was missing until she got home.
This morning Vigil pleaded guilty to child abuse, leaving the scene of an accident and aggravated DWI.
She blew a .31 — that’s almost four times the legal limit.
She faces up to five years in prison.
