FORT BRAGG, N.C. (WNCN) – A 48-year-old soldier was found dead Wednesday near his Fort Bragg residence, officials confirmed.
The death of Staff Sgt. Thomas Seiler, 48, of Cheektowaga, New York, is currently under investigation.
Seiler was a Patriot launching station enhanced operator with Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 1st Battalion, 7th Air Defense Artillery Regiment.
“Staff Sgt. Thomas Seiler was a beloved member of the 1-7 ADA team and will be sorely missed,” said Lt. Col. Jason Townsend, commander of 1-7 ADA. “Thomas was an exceptional teacher, coach and mentor to our Soldiers and our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”
He is survived by his father, 3 brothers, and sister.
